Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. You can scan menus without signing up. During the trial each visitor has a free allowance of up to 100 menu pages every 30 days.
How much does it cost?
It is free during the trial, within the allowance. A 7-day Trip Pass at $4.99 is planned and the waitlist is open, but it is still being prepared and nobody is charged now.
How accurate is the reading?
Not perfectly. Recognition, translation and dish explanations are generated by AI and can be wrong or incomplete. Allergen and raw-food notes are hints, not medical advice. If you have an allergy, confirm ingredients with the restaurant staff.
Which languages does it support?
The app itself is in English and Simplified Chinese. We built it first around Japanese menus. Menus in other languages may also work, but we do not guarantee coverage yet.
What happens to my menu photos?
Photos are sent to our image storage (Vercel Blob), to Google Cloud for OCR and translation, and to AI services (Google Gemini and OpenRouter), and are kept so you can view them again. Photo links are random and unguessable, but anyone holding a link can open it. We cannot currently delete uploaded photos; the privacy notice has the details.
Do you sell my data?
No. We do not sell your data and we do not track you across other apps or websites. Data is shared only with the service providers needed to run the app.
How does ordering together work?
Start a shared table and send the invite link. Friends open it in a browser without installing anything or logging in, add their dishes, and everyone sees the same list. A table expires after 12 hours.
